1961년 공영방송 KBS TV의 탄생 이후,1964년 첫 민간방송 TBC가 등장하고, 1969년 후발주자인 MBC가 가세하면서 본격적인 TV 영상매체 시대가 개막 된다.

일부 부유층에 국한되었던 TV 수상기도 60년대에서 70년대로 접어 들면서 점차 전국적인 보급이 이루어지면서, 각 TV 방송국들은 홍수처럼 늘어나는 각종 오락 프로그램 및 드라마는 물론, 교양 프로그램 제작으로 가수와 탤런트 기근을 극심하게 겪었다.

각 방송국의 연예 프로그램 제작자들이 신인 발굴에 촉각을 곤두 세웠던 것은 두말 할 나위가 없다.

KBS 합창단원이었던 강예원, 인원 자매로 구성된 유리 시스터즈는 변화된 방송 환경 속에서 방송사상 최초로 탄생된 전속 가수다.

KBS TV의 쇼 프로그램 제작자들의 적극적 지원이 둘의 모태였다.

두 자매는 연식정구협회 부회장이었던 부친 강대원씨의 부유한 가정에서 1남 6녀 중 다섯째와 여섯째로, 1948년 11월22일과 1952년 4월 7일 전주에서 태어났다.

당시 KBS 전속 경음악단장으로 명성이 높았던 작곡가 김강섭은 이들의 외삼촌이다.

언니 예원은 차분하고 이지적인 성격이었던 반면, 동생 인원은 활달하고 적극적인 성격이었다.

성격을 달랐지만 어려서부터 음악을 좋아했던 두 자매는 전주 풍남 초등학교와 전주여중고를 같이 졸업했다.

학창시절, 사이몬 앤 가펑클의 맑고 깨끗한 화음의 팝송을 즐겨 들으며 피아노, 기타, 실로폰 등 악기를 연주하기까지 했던 재주 많은 여학생들 이었다. 특히 언니 예원은 전북 대표로 전국체전에 나가 은메달을 따냈던 탁구 선수이자 바둑 6급의 실력자였다.

그녀는 전주여고 졸업 후 한양대 교육학과에 진학한다.

동생 인원은 초등학교 3학년 때부터 클래식 레슨을 받기 시작해 전주여고 졸업반 때는 호남 음악경연대회에서 최우수상을 받을 만큼 음악성이 뛰어났다.

1970년 전주여고를 졸업한 동생 인원은 대학교 3학년이었던 언니에게 "11월의 KBS TV 합창단원 모집 오디션에 나가자"고 제의했다. 오디션장에 나가 잔뜩 긴장한 채 노래에 열중하던 두 자매는 심사위원석에서 별안간 고함소리를 지르는 외삼촌 김강섭을 보고 기겁을 했다.

한마디 외논도 없이 오디션에 나온 것을 본 그가 놀라 지른 소리였다.

이미 수준급의 노래실력을 가졌던 자매는 무난하게 오디션을 통과했다.

합창단원으로 활동하며 외삼촌에게 노래 레슨을 간청했다.

자매의 음악 소질과 열의를 느낀 김강섭은 본격적인 음악 지도에 들어간다.

김강섭의 주선으로 자매의 노래를 들은 당시 KBS TV 박종국 부장은 눈이 번쩍 뜨였다.

신인가수 발굴이 절실했던 그는 "전속 가수로 최대한 지원을 하겠다", "청순한 이미지 대로 깨지지 말고 맑고 깨끗한 노래를 하라" 며 "유리 시스터즈" 라는 이름을 지어주었다.

당시 KBS 쇼PD 오용한도 "두 자매는 악보를 거꾸로 놔도 읽을 만큼 기초가 탄탄하다. 맑고 하모니가 잘되는 음색이므로 인기 듀엣으로 키워보겠다" 고 칭찬했다.

동생 인원은 리드 보컬을 맡고 언니 예원은 화음을 맡았다.

김강섭이 작곡한 드라마 "꿈나무" 의 주제가로 이들은 데뷔했다.

1971년 2월 첫 방송에 들어간 드라마 "꿈나무" 는 드라마보다 주제가로 더욱 인기를 모은다.

신인 탤런트 하명중과 한혜숙이 인기 탤런트로 부상한 것은 드라마 주제가에 쏠린 관심 덕이 컸다고 볼 수 있다.

싱싱한 보컬, 그리고 독특한 리듬과 멜로디의 "꿈나무"는 어린이들의 애창곡이 될 정도로 사랑을 받았다.

이 후 유리 시스터즈는 방송가의 기대주로 떠오르며 "KBS 그랜드 쇼", "패티 김", "도레미 쇼" 등 인기 TV 쇼와 라디오에 매주 평균 3회 이상 출연 했다.

신인가수들 중 최고 수준이었다.

이어 라디오 연속극 "산 넘어" 의 주제가와 모 화장품회사와 거금 50만원의 광고 계약을 맺고 데뷔 1개월 만에 유니버셜레코드와도 계약을 맺으며 인기의 순풍을 탔다.

본격적인 홛동에 돌입한 이들은 TV 시대에 맞는 율동을 배우기 위해 저녁마다 현대무용가 강미경에게 모던 발레를 배웠다.

비슷한 용모에다 똑같은 옷과 장신구를 착용했던 까닭에 둘은 쌍둥이 자매로 오해를 받기도 했다.

데뷔 초기 이들은 외삼촌의 노래 외에 20여 곡의 라틴계열의 팝송을 즐겨 불렀다.

이 후 오아시스로 전속을 옮겨 2번 째 음반을 발표하며 대중의 사랑을 듬뿍 받았던 이들은 돌연 해체를 선언한다.

가수 활동에 적극적이었던 동생과는 달리 언니 예원은 노래보다는 학업에 전념하기 위해 대학원 진학을 결정했다.

팬들은 "공부를 하면서도 노래도 계속하라"고 아쉬움을 표했지만, 데뷔 1년만인 1971년 12월 KBS TV에서 은퇴 인사를 마지막으로 대중들의 시야에서 사라진다.

해체 후 동생 인원은 솔로 활동을 하다 1973년 3월 오정선의 후임으로 6대 라나 에 로스포에 합류했다.

지난 8월 작고한 리더 한민은 "Young & 라나에로스포" 라는 5인조 록 그룹으로 변신을 꾀하며 강인원과 1년 3개월 여 동안 활동을 했다.

1974년 결별을 선언했던 강인원은 라나 에 로스포가 여성 파트너를 자주 교체했던데 대한 쇼킹한 폭로성 발언으로 주목을 받기도 했다.

이후 그녀 역시 가요계에서 흔적을 찾기는 어려웠다.

비록 유리 시스터즈의 이름을 기억하는 대중들은 많지 않지만 그녀들이 남긴 아련한 "꿈나무" 노래 가락은 팬들의 뇌리속에 살아있는 맑은 노래 였다.

Needless to say, the producers of entertainment programs at each station were keen to discover newcomers.

Yuri Sisters, a member of the KBS choir, Kang Ye-won and her sister, she is the only singer who was born for the first time in a broadcast environment.

KBS TV's active support from the show producers came from both sides.

The two sisters were the fifth and sixth child born from a wealthy family with their father, Kang Dae-won, being vice president of the Soft Tennis Association. They were born in Jeonju on November 22, 1948 and April 7, 1952.

The composer Kim Kang-seop, who was famous for being the head music director of KBS, was his uncle.

Sister Yewon was calm and intelligent, while her sister was the active one. The two sisters, who had different personalities both liked music since childhood. They graduated from Jeonju Pungnam Elementary School and from Jeonju Girls' High School.

During their school days, Simon and Garfunkel was enjoyed with its clear chords of pop songs combined with piano, guitar, xylophone, and other musical instruments. Sister Yewon was also a table tennis player who won the silver medal as a representative of Jeonbuk and won the 6th class of Go. After graduating from Jeonju Girls' High School, she entered Hanyang University.

The younger sister began taking classical lessons when the first sister was in the third grade of elementary school, and the musical was excellent enough to receive the first prize at the Honam Music Contest when she had graduated from Jeonju Girls' High School. The younger sister who graduated from Jeonju Girls' High School in 1970 suggested to her sister, who was in the third year of college, to "go to the KBS TV Choir Recruitment Audition in November." The two sisters, who went to the audition hall and were nervous about the song, were surprised to see their uncle Kim Kang-seop yelling in the jury. I was surprised to see him come to the audition without saying a word.

The first Sister who already had a level of singing skills passed the audition. Working in a choir, she begged her uncle for singing lessons. Kim Kang-seop felt the enthusiasm of the sisters, entering the music scene in earnest.

At the time of listening to the sisters' songs under Kim's arrangement, Park Jong-guk of KBS TV was open to suggestion. He was desperate to find a new singer, and he gave them the name "Yuri Sisters" and said, "I will support you as an exclusive singer."

At that time, KBS show PD Oh Yong-han praised, "The two sisters are solid enough to read even if the music is upside down. I'll grow it as a popular duet because it is clear and harmonious."

The younger sister was the lead vocalist, and her sister Yewon sang the chords.

They made their debut as the theme song of the drama "Dream Tree" composed by Kim Kang-sup. The drama "Dream Tree", which first appeared in February 1971, is more popular than the drama. The rising popularity of new talents, Ha Myung-joong and Han Hye-sook, can be attributed to the interest in the drama's theme song. Fresh vocals and unique rhythms and melody "dream trees" were loved to be children's favorite songs.

Since then, Yuri Sisters has emerged as the expectation of the broadcaster and has appeared on average three or more times a week on popular TV shows and radios such as KBS Grand Show, Patty Kim, and Doremi Show. It was the highest level of performance among newcomers.

After that, he signed a commercial contract with a theme song of radio drama "Beyond the Mountain" and a parent cosmetics company for 500,000 won, and also signed a contract with Universal Records within one month of his debut, gaining popularity.

Those who started full-fledged movements learned modern ballet by modern dancer Kang Mi-kyung every evening to learn rhythm for the TV era.

They were misunderstood as being twin sisters because of their similar appearance and the same clothes and trinkets.

In the early days of their debut, they enjoyed singing around 20 Latin pop songs in addition to songs by their uncle.

After that, they moved to Oasis and released their second album, and those who received a lot of love from the public suddenly declare their dissolution.

Unlike her sister, who was active in singer activities, she decided to go to graduate school to concentrate on her studies rather than singing. Fans regretted that they should not continue to sing while studying, but the last retirement from KBS TV in December 1971, a year after their debut, finally disappeared from the public view.

After disbanding, her younger sister became a solo and joined the sixth Lana e Rospo in March 1973 as successor.

In August, the late leader, Hanmin, worked with Kang In-won for over a year and three months, transforming himself into a five-member rock group called "Young & Lanaerospo." Kang In-won, who declared a breakup in 1974, was also noted for her shocking revelation that Lana E. Rospo frequently replaced female partners. Since then, it was difficult to find further traces in the music industry.

Although there aren't many people who remember Yuri Sisters' name, the vague "dream tree" song they left was a clear song alive in the minds of their fans.

This is indeed a fine song to remember with delicate folky vocal harmonies, starting with a nice organ intro. It is a lush sweet-sad / optimistically sounding 60s pop song with well worked out, partly commercial studio arrangements.

같은 앨범으로 데뷔해 스타덤에 올랐다. 유리시스터즈의 데뷔곡 <꿈나무>는 KBS TV 동명의 청소년 연속극 주제가로

청소년층에 큰 인기를 끌었다. 시원한 음색으로 사랑받았던 문정선은 이 앨범에 수록된 <파초의 꿈>을 비롯해 <보리밭>,

<오라 오라 오라>, <나의노래> 등을 히트시키며 70년대를 풍미했던 인기가수였다.

In 1970, TBC (television) had a new girl award winner with a big hit. It was by Sister girl group Yuri Sisters together with Moon Jung Sun back in 1971. The band debuted on the same album and both received stardom at the same moment. Yuri Sisters' debut song Dream Tree is a theme song for youth dramas of the same name on KBS TV. It was very popular with the youth. Moon Jung-sun, who was loved for his cool tone, is included on the LP with <Pacho's Dream>, <Barley Field>. He was a popular singer who enjoyed the 70s with hits such as Aura Aura and My Song.
